Airport Express - connection to existing network

Hi,
A basic question but important nonetheless. Can anybody help me get my Airport Express to speak to my existing wireless network? I have tried and tried, googled and googled (it seems I am not alone). I have managed to connect via Ethernet but that is not the point, is it? To add poignancy to this post, I am pretty sure I will be getting an iPod Touch for my birthday tomorrow and my dreams of lounging in my living room and dialling up music form iTunes without stirring are fading!
